Hayride Tour Giddy-up!
Over the desert and through the tumbleweeds, to the CAP canal we go. Join the Security department for a hayride tour of CAP Headquarters on a horse drawn buggy. Don't forget your sunscreen!

Burrowing Owls
In this activity you'll meet a representative from Wild At Heart, a volunteer agency dedicated to the conservation of Arizona's native wildlife through the rescue and rehabilitation of injured and orphaned birds. You'll be introduced to several birds of prey including raptors and you will learn more about their burrowing owl relocation project, which CAP will be supporting later this year

GIS Global Positioning

Join the Engineering department for a peek inside CADD operations. You'll get to star in your own digital photography project, locate your house using the GIS global positioning system and learn how to perform a search of CAP grounds.

Bird Houses
Construction is for the birds in this fun activity. Build and paint your own birdhouse in the Carpentry shop.

Fish & Bugs
Get up close and personal with a few of the desert's most creepy, crawly critters. Join Pest Management for this introduction to some of the native critters and pests of Arizona including snakes, scorpions and spiders. And watch a video on CAP's use of grass-eating carp in the canal to control aquatic growth.

Radio Demo

Learn how CAP communicates along the 336-miles of canal. Members of the Electronics group will show you how to work communications tools including two-way radios and video conferencing.

Welding Workshop
If you think Arizona summers are hot, wait until you learn about the temperatures that are need to melt metal and other materials in the Welding shop. See for yourself what goes on in this welding demonstration. Plus, you'll get to take home a souvenir horseshoe picture frame made by one of CAP's welders.

Control Center Tour
Get a bird's-eye-view of operations on the canal with a tour of the CAP's Control Center. You'll enjoy this behind the scenes look into how CAP controls water flow along the 336-miles from Lake Havasu City to Tucson.

Warehouse Experience
Get ready to hunt! This year in the Warehouse, participate in the costume and equipment relay while you get a glimpse at the wide variety of equipment, tools and supplies that are in demand around the company every day.

Vehicle Shop
Learn how our Vehicle shop maintains modern day horseless carriages including cars, truck and other vehicles with cutting-edge technology including infrared alignment and computers.

Geology & Groundwater
If you think rocks are boring, think again. Water Planning is out to prove you wrong. Learn how underground aquifers work you get to crack and take home your own geode

Video Crew
Whether you prefer to be the in front of the camera or behind the scenes, you can get your chance as a participant in the CAP Video Crew. If you are a budding film-maker or just want to bone up on your interview skills, you'll enjoy this all-day activity where you'll be responsible for documenting all things Kids Day!

Photo Crew
On the Photo Crew, you'll be responsible for capturing and documenting all the fun and excitement of Kids Day from behind the camera. So if you have an eye for news, this all-day activity might be just what you looking for!

Web Site Design
You will be the star of this show when you create and design your own personal Kid's Day webpage. New this year, you can be your own webmaster and learn how to create a page for, by and all about...YOU!
