A Dude Ranch is - a unique western experience
centered around horses, the outdoors and wholesome activities.
Some ranches even offer activities involving cattle
and ranch work. Ranches range from large to small and
posh to basic. One theme that ranches do have in common
is the genuine hospitality that is extended to all their
visitors. You, the guest, will feel like you have found
a new home away from home and just acquired a new set
of relatives!
The
concept of dude ranching developed in the late 1800's
when cattle ranchers needed more revenue than just what
their ranch operation provided. Many ranchers were already
providing a ranch experience to friends and family for
free and they simply expanded that concept and charged.
The business of dude ranching was off and running in
no time at all. As time went on, not all ranches offered
a working cattle experience. Some catered to the more
leisurely vacations with swimming, tennis, hiking and,
of course, recreational trail rides and horse activities.
Not much has changed over the years. Most ranches encourage
a minimum stay requirement, include all meals with their
tarriff and maintain their own horse operation at the
ranch. All of this contributes to a stress-free, truly
relaxing vacation destination. Time stops while you
are at the ranch. You can actually pause to watch the
sun rise and set while reflecting on the wonders of
nature. An authentic western ranch experience can rejuvenate
your spirit and rekindle the romance in your soul.
The White Stallion Ranch in Tucson is one such
ranch. They are an easy one and a half hour drive from
Sky Harbor Airport.
